To link the electricity meter to the Wi-Fi network, whether it is done from the mobile app or via the web, there is a moment when a list of networks appears in which you have to select the WiFi network of the house.
Although it is unusual, sometimes it can happen that the target WiFi network does not appear on the list. This can happen for two reasons:
- When the energy meter was turned on, the WiFi network was not within reach.
- The WiFi network in question works on channels 12 or 13.
The first case can occur if, for example, the electricity of the whole house has been cut off to make the installation and, when giving it back, the meter has started faster than the Internet router. This case is easily solved by pressing the "Update" button or, ultimately, by restarting the meter.
The second case is more complicated. The WiFi chip incorporated by mirubee meters works in the "traditional" channels from 1 to 11. If the home router works on channel 12 or 13, the device does not see it (it does not appear in the list) and it can not connect. You can check the working channel of your router with the free application "WiFi manager" (or any similar). The solution is to change the channel where your router emits to another one that is between 1 and 11 (and, if possible, that is little competitive with other networks).
If you have never touched the router channels and do not know how it is done, it is probably configured in the "Auto" channel. Something easy that you can try to avoid getting into the configuration of the router is to restart it (several times if necessary) until it starts on another channel that is between 1 and 11.
