The Virtual Submetering algorithm is able to detect the consumption of household appliances that have distinct patterns (normally associated with work cycles). The appliances that can be detected with the algorithm are the following:
- Automatic detection: fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave, hot water boiler
- Training through questions: dishwasher, oven, vitroceramic hobs (not induction)
- Manual training: electric heater, toaster, iron, kettle, etc.
For now, the algorithm does not detect induced vitroceramic hobs, inverter-type air conditioning, lighting, televisions, computers, and other general electronic devices.
